Stay away. They hold your coin and currency for as much is 50 days when you first purchase. It is easy to buy there But try moving your currency off that site it’s ridiculous too many rules. I will never buy anything from them again soon as I can get my funds. In New Jersey you cannot use a credit card to buy crypto and on most exchanges the debit card has very low limits and the only way to use your bank effectively use many times to do wire transfers. For that reason I use Abra as it’s easy to buy crypto with your bank link And things are quickly credited and moved off your account if you want to do another exchange to buy with bitcoin or move to a hardware wallet.

Wish I'd of read this review site before putting my hard earned money into coinbase! They gave me a 55 day hold, do to so called suspicious activity...? I resubmitted my ID, got it verified then went in a few days later and found they still had a 49 day hold on my funds. WTF! After 2 calls and 2 emails all I got was an " I'll mark your case a number 10 which is URGENT", yeah right. 11 days so far with no word. And this is supposed to be the best company for crypto? Ha, no wonder no one uses it but us newbies....once!

They are a bunch of crooks who will money plain and simple! I was using Coinbase as a means to transfer Bitcoin between Nicehash an my Trezor hardware wallet since Nicehash offers the free withdraw option to Coinbase so I figured I'd save on the transaction fee, boy was I wrong! It worked fine for about the first 10 months or so, and then just today, when I logged in to do my usual transfer, I was greeted with a message saying that I could not withdraw MY Bitcoin until I verified my identity. I already went through hell setting all this identity BS up when I first created the account, why the hell is it asking for my ID again?? After multiple failed attempts to upload the picture and feeling completely helpless I phoned "support" which was a complete waste of time as guy simply fed me the same old scripted BS like a robot on autopilot. After getting the runaround for about 10 minutes, I asked if there was any way to simply cancel the account even if it meant losing my funds. Sadly, that isn't even an option since doing so requires zeroing the balance which is impossible since my identity can't be verified. So, now I'm out $72.81 in Bitcoin as a result of this crap. I wish I would have just paid the transaction fee of $0.66 and received my payment, sure seems like a bargain right now! Long story short, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are a bunch of thugs selling your personal information to the IRS and stealing your funds because their own crappy system locks you out of your account. Lesson learned!

13 day hold on a $10 BTC purchase made with a FULLY verified coinbase account linked directly with Wells Fargo api. Money left my Wells Fargo account in a nanosecond but I was forced into a 13 day hold. I had opened this coinbase account in 2016 and only decided to finally use it after i was told that bank transfers were now credited instantly. Thank god I made a tiny test deposit and not a real buy. The market has lost 10% during this hold. Add that to the $1 fee they charged and these clowns effectively cost me 20% for this transaction. I can't even close my account until the $8 clears or I will lose that to some coinbase black hole. I have no idea why my Bank Account purchase was not instantly available because they don't answer support tickets. They do have a bot that tries every angle to stop you from opening a ticket, though I don't know why since tickets are ignored anyway.What a nightmare. I never believed all the crap I heard about these morons but now I can believe it. LBC is faster by a factor of 3 weeks (in business days, 13 calendar days). For small buys LBC is vastly cheaper as well. even for substantial buys there are always sellers with great pricing for cash deposits toward $5k+ purchases. Under market price deals are always available in that range and even $500-ish purchases are easy to find with tiny premiums that beat coinbase pricing easily. Run away from these asses as fast as you can.

I can send a zelle transfer within minutes. This company built its rep off the backs of retail investors and then dumped them for accredited investors.

Don't be fooled by the website FAQ pages! They state that a bank transfer typically completes within 5 business days but that is a lie.I added $50 by direct bank transfer. A couple of days later I checked and found that the money was on a 12 day hold. Two more days later I check my bank account which showed the withdrawal. Checked again and funds were still on hold.
I contacted support and the would not say why there was a hold, only that there could be many reason for a hold. So, my $$ is on hold for an arbitrary 12 days regardless of how quickly the bank transfer occurs. It is now 9 days since I submitted the transaction with 3 days left on the hold.
Apparently I am one of the lucky ones that only got a 12 day hold. I have read other complaints of people having their funds put on a 21 day hold without explanation.
I suggest you skip coinbase and continue searching for a different way to buy and spend bitcoin! Coinbase is just not worth the hassle.

Coinbase was working well for me for a long time. You just send them Money via SEPA from your Bank, buy coins and send them somewhere. Now they stopped coin withdrawal (Value under 100 €) for "Security Issues" - i am fully verified with Bank Account, Phone Number, 2 factor authentication, the app and Passport Images. This is the worst Service i can imagine, now i am supposed to wait 3 fxxxxx Days for my withdrawal? That is against everything crypto stands for - self control over your money. Will never send them money again.

Avoid Coinbase. It is bad for beginners. Getting into their system was onerous because of the levels of documentation and identity they required. Once in the system, I transferred money and bought Bitcoin. It was *after* I bought the Bitcoin that I was told that they routinely freeze assets for 26 days when the client uses a transfer from a bank, which was their "preferred" payment method. I then tried to transfer money in from from a debit card. No success there either. The next day, I was informed by email that my account had been locked from either buying or selling due to "suspicious activity". I called them, and the operator could not tell me why the account had been locked. She would put in a ticket and an "expert" would tell me the nature of this "suspicious activity" within two to four business days. So my Bitcoin assets are frozen for a month, my account is locked, and it will be a couple more days before I even find out why.

Coinbase has turned into a scam. I was going to pay a bill with Bitcoin and logged into my trusty Coinbase account and bought $120 worth of Bitcoin. They refused to release the cryptocurrency to me. They charged me and gave me nothing in return, just lies and excuses. My account shows some now devalued Bitcoin and less their fee, but I can't transfer it or get real money back. It's all just gone. I filed a FINRA complaint and everyone else should too. It's just another Mt. Gox and they will rob you.

Horrible experience! I deposited $400 into bitcoin so I can trade and it’s been on hold for more than 1 month now. Every time I call they tell me that the hold period is usually 5-7 business days and that they will contact a specialist so they can help me reduce the hold time. It’s ridiculous. I even asked to speak to a supervisor and he couldn’t do anything different to help me. Customer service doesn’t know anything, they just tell you the same thing over and over again. Worst investment I’ve ever made opening an account with Coinbase.
