During the past 4 days, I estimate CEX.IO have wasted over 11 hours of my life, via photo attempts, site log-ins, edits, email exchanges, and telephoning my CC company to get details of the temporary transaction (debit) CEX.IO generatates, which you then have to get the details of by phone {because it won't show up in your account -- online -- in the normal way}.
You would think they would describe these peculiar requirements at the outset, but they simply do not. You only learn by trial and error.
After my first photo attempt was rejected (due to "low resolution") I scanned my Passport and Visa card using a USB connected scanner, to make sure my documents lay flat and were legible. This is not enough for CEX.IO. They want a photograph of the same complete with EXIF data. You end up being an amateur studio photographer because you then how to solve how to mount your docs so they lay flat and are adjacent while also complying with CEX.IO's other, often contradictory, demands concerning "no edges of your ID docs should be hidden", etc., etc.
I suspect the Card Compliance Operation is being run out of India, because their understanding of English below par, and they have absolutely no common sense. Of course, every compliance team member you interface with via email have English sounding names. I simply hate this kind of online deceit. Indians pretending to be European. I really think we need to put an end to this kind of insulting arrangement.
The owner of CEX.IO, or at least one of them, has a Russian sounding name. I have absolutely nothing against genuine Russians. What I suspect (because I am from the UK and have studied this topic) is that CEX.IO is at least partly owned by Russian Jews, because that's the only sizable 'Russian' community living in London (and using London as a financial base). There's a 75% or higher chance CEX.IO is actually a Russian-Jewish-Mafia operation.
Steer well clear and look for alternative solutions. Their website is too slick. It is a slickness that pulls trusting suckers like us in ... we want to believe we are signing up to a top-notch operation. But that's impossible when you have to jump through so many strange hoops just to purchase a relatively small amount of BTC using your OWN Credit Card!! Now that I have terminated all further attempts at joining this outfit, I have been asking myself, why is it I am being asked to verify my own credit card with some unknown online operation?? This is bullsh*t.
I congratulate all those who have refused to upload their Bank Statements in the raw, without redaction. Any company who says they need to read your Bank Statements in full (in order to allegedly comply with KYC and AML, blah-blah-blah) should be told to go to hell straight away! This is not the Bitcoin Future we want to see, or expected to see.

I started the Verification Process before looking at reviews, and it was the worst decision. This company/site is dodgy as hell. They request pictures of you with your credit card, your credit card with your ID, etc. and complain when they are not super high-res photos.
After uploading the my ID, they changed the requirement to a Passport. They also want bank statements with nothing edited out.
When questioned about this practice, support pointed to their compliance with AML/KYC, but if you actually look at KYC it does not require all these extremely invasive measures, and they also fail to require you to fill out a KYC form (which means they are not even KYC compliant!)
After reading other's experience, I check their PCI DSS compliance cert here https://cex.io/promo/img/legal/pci.pdf and as you can clearly see this cert is no longer valid! This made me outright frightened about the company, so I demanded they delete all files I uploaded, as I am extremely uncomfortable with them having such sensitive information on their servers. They refused, citing necessary AML/KYC protocol, but in fact this does not apply if I have not even completed the verification process or undertaken any transactions through their services.
Needless to say, I am going to pursue this legally and sue them if they do not comply with my request; have notified my Visa issuer of any possible fraudulent activity that may (have) come about as a result of this; and am getting the word out to stay VERY FAR AWAY from these guys.

Money simply went missing with withdrawals, (almost $100) and it was blamed on "correspondent banks" by their support, and no extra help was given when I asked which banks etc they use. I don't think the banks have anything to do with the money disapprearing.
When withdrawing bitcoin to my wallet, the transaction from cex.io was marked as "Not standard, cannot be trusted."
Avoid these scammers, stay clear.

You get zapped $50 for fiat withdrawal, and then they just take whatever other fees they like and won't tell you anything else. I did 2 withdrawals and there was a HUGE difference in fees between the two, and I was dismissed by their support.
STAY AWAY, they're thieving bastards.

While the site looks great, and it has some nice functionality, their verification process is an absolute joke! I’ve been trying for 3 days to withdraw my funds, and so far I’ve been unable to.
To withdraw, you have to supply: Photo ID, a picture of you holding the ID (odd, but OK), and a recent bill/bank statement. This in its self is a lot of information. Naturally I blanked out sensitive information, statement transactions, driver license numbers, issue and expire dates, and left the key information, IE. Name and address.
For CEX.IO this isn’t good enough, apparently according to their support staff they need “unedited” documents with no information blanked out. Who sends a full unedited Bank Statement!?
As other reviews have mentioned, use another company that don’t have these restrictions in place.
