Also, it is truly a shame to see traders who are losing money simply tag the site with low reviews. Although that is expected - most brokers in the forex world get shit every day from traders who simply, well, make bad bets and lose money. It's part of life, part of the game. Margin trading is a high risk endeavor. If you can't make money trading, find another hobby!

WhaleClub's customer support is extremely negligent. When something goes wrong, do not expect to find answers. They respond to about 1/3 of messages, and fail to answer questions that are asked several times in different ways, desperately trying to get an answer and understand the platform.
Dat Bonus Tho:
The bonus is poorly documented and misleading, at best. It is not simply a refund of 30% of your losses, as you might believe from reading their documentation. So far, after losses of around 100% of my original deposit, I have received about 1% refund. The customer support group cannot / will not explain the mechanisms behind the bonus.
Leverage:
This is also misleading, and they should do a better job of communicating your liquidation price when / before making a trade. Honestly, they should make you accept/agree to it explicitly when using the UI.

The Whaleclub trader works as expected. It has a good selection of assets (although it could use more) and FX spreads and premiums are in line with the industry. Customer support is generally responsive in my experience, which is a plus. I am looking forward to new feature additions in the near future. Cheers from Aussie!

People lose their money so quickly because Whaleclub charges "financing" at the top of every hour. EVERY hour. And here's a quote from their FAQ: "Financing applies on your full position size, including positions opened at 1x leverage." So you are charged financing charges even if you don't borrow money to get a higher leverage. Go to their homepage + /fees
This explains why some people said they put in a trade for several hours, and even made a profit, but still lost their money. It was taken away because of finance charges! And look at the following market chart, you'll see that BTC financing is 9%. That's 9% every hour, people, to trade BTC. Go to their homepage + /markets
I'm convinced. Whaleclub is a dangerous scam, with a beautiful beautiful design and attractive features. I was almost taken in. Thank goodness I didn't trade with them, and thank goodness I read some of the bad reviews here.
I personally have not had a bad experience with them. I have only used the "demo" account feature, and I never deposited real money. I personally cannot corroborate claims that Whaleclub took people's money and froze their accounts. But take a look at their legal agreement ... it says they can do it if they want to! Wow, that's crazy. Go to their homepage + /legal/user-agreement
Last thing: I didn't know until just now, reading the legal agreement, that residents of the United States can NOT use the platform. I had no idea.

Their page detailing "execution cost comparison" is incorrect and misleading. The reason the math on the table is wrong is this: Whaleclub's spread is calculated against the value of 1 entire coin ... while every other exchange calculates their fee against what the customer is trading.
So Whaleclub's BTC/USD spread (aka fee) is $85, no matter HOW much you are trading. They say it's about 0.78%, which is 0.78% of the value of 1 BTC ... or 0.78% of ~$11,000.
For comparison, a BTC/USD fee on any other exchange might be 0.5%, but that's 0.5% of the value of what I want to trade. So if I trade ~$100, the fee is $0.50. But what about "spread" on other exchanges? Well, GDAX has $0.01 spreads for BTC. Most exchanges have spreads that are literally pennies large. And with limit orders, there's no slippage. On GDAX, a limit order means they don't even charge the 0.15% fee.
(And btw, placing a limit order on Whaleclub doesn't reduce the spread at all.)
This is a huge difference: $85.00 versus $0.01. I'll never trade real money on Whaleclub unless this is fixed.
To be fair, it IS true that one can save money in fees by trading on Whaleclub, but that only happens if one is trading in excess of the value of 1 entire coin on the exchange. So if you're placing trades for ~$10,000+ on the BTC/USD exchange, then Whaleclub is competitive. Or if you're placing ~$200 trades on the LTC exchange, then fees are more competitive.
Unfortunately, my account size is too small for that. Maybe Whaleclub is for high rollers only.
As I said, the platform is amazing. If I could, I would do all my trading with Whaleclub. I love the ability to short, to have leverage, and the interface is the best. But nice features don't mean anything if the economics don't add up for me.
