UpdateIn business since end of 2007, VirWox is today the the leading independent exchange for trading virtual currencies, both in terms number of users (about 100,000), and trading volume (2012: 29 million Euro / 38 million US$).
Currencies traded are Linden Dollars (the virtual currency used in Second Life), Avination's C$, and the Open Metaverse Currency (OMC). In April 2011, RED PAY LINE started accepting Bitcoin and enabled to trade bitcoins for Linden Dollars (both ways), which are in turn convertible to EUR, USD, GBP, CHF, and the other virtual currencies traded on VirWoX.
Other payment methods (deposit and withdrawal) include PayPal, Credit/Debit Cards via Skrill/Moneybookers, NETELLER, paysafecard, Ukash, SOFORTbanking, and bank transfers.
VirWox is run by the company Virtual World Services GmbH, which is located in Austria. The service is available in five languages (English, German, French, Spanish, Italian).

Been using Virwox regularly for 6 months, It is what it is... Where else can you use paypal to buy bitcoin? Very little sites will accommodate this or seem shady. Once your commission rate is lower you will pay less in fees. I would avoid using virwox for small bitcoin transfers under $100 as there is an automatic 0.0005 withdrawl fee so I usually wait until i have a larger amount before withdrawing. An alternative is localbitcoins but there the risk factors are so high with paypal and the buy and sell rates you probably would lose more BTC there then here on virwox.Also just a tip, try not to use the market orders, the rates are worse using that method. If you have a little patience make bids on the limit orders you will get more for your money.

Bad service. More than 24 hours delay. Huge fees all over the place. The price of Bitcoin has fluctuated so much it lost a lot of his values. Avoid at all cost.

I wanted to exchange my money to bitcoin: I put 10€ via Sofort on my account and then exchanged it to SLL.
Then after I exchanged my SLL to BTC, it said, that I need a minimum of 4.5k SLL (had 2.4k). Then I put 25€ more on the account and exchanged that to SLL and finally got around 6k SLL. After exchanging SLL to BTC I got 0.009BTC (28€ then). So I lost 7€ already. After starting a payout(whuch took more than 24hrs) I finally got 0.008BTC on my wallet (23-24€). I will never use VirWox again. I lost 10€ through them. Use other btc exchange services (anycoindirect has Sofort too and has less fees)

I've bought BTC with PayPal for 90e (it was the limit as first-time buyer). Although fees are huge (in the end I got about 77e) everything else was fast and reliable in my case. Also, you'll not receive BTCs immediately in your wallet because of safety issues. I got it after about 24h.Hope this helps for everyone that is interested in this site.

Waste of time! they close all accounts that try to buy bitcoin no matter if all legal and your won deposit accounts are legal.When try to buy bitcoin they will close your account for no reason sending you email that is high risk!

Man muss mindestens 0,005 BTC kaufen. dies wird einen vorher nicht gesagt weil man erstmal geld drauf haben muss. Habe 20€ eingezahlt und dies hat nicht gereicht. habe mir es wieder auszahlen lassen und hatte 15€... So schnell (Meine eigene dummheit gebe ich zu, aber dies nicht vorher zu schreiben ist schon arg schlecht von der seite) verpuffen 5 € für nix... Nie wieder, da bleibe ich ja lieber bei coinbase.
