Description

Update

A hosted web-based E-Wallet used for sending, receiving and storing bitcoins. This is not to be confused with the data structure in the blockchain which is also named coinbase.

The service aims to be the easiest way to get started with Bitcoin. Its service is modeled to provide an experience familiar to those who are comfortable using PayPal.

starstarstarstarstar I bot $100 worth of Bitcoin at the beginning of February 2017. As it was, I've been up and positive with the very small trial investment. Two days ago I tried to liquidate, close out Bitcoin and have the proceeds sent to me. The program wouldn't take my sell (it kept asking for more money, which makes no sense), I left emails and, took a picture of what I was doing. Today (2days later) March 17, 2017 there is still no answer, and again I made the same request, and took a picture.
This behavior is irresponsible for a financial services company, and suggest staying as far away as possible from CoinBase. They have no desire to interact or handle my needs, very poor customer service.

starstarstarstarstar The site's pretty, but total garbage and can't be trusted to run, like most other crypto currency transaction sites.

starstarstarstarstar HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE,HORRIBLE.. Worst BTC EVER !! I asked for their support and it took them more than 3 weeks to respond. I had sent bitcoins to a vendor that setup a fake account, unbeknownst to me, and when I didn't get a response from the vendor, which I sent them multiple emails, I sent an email to the support team at Coinbase. They said that they couldn't help me either.. So I was basically S.O.L. Then, they sent me a notice the next day stating that their closing my account.. DO NOT USE COINBASE.. Now, it shows I have to rate them, before I submit this, the lowest I could go is 1 star, I wouldn't even give them that if I had my choice..

starstarstarstarstar Bitcoin crashed to day and so did coinbase. Thumbs down.

starstarstarstarstar Spent over £1000 for BTC recently but when I changed my Phone Number for 2FA because of a Police Incident, Coinbase did not reply to any of my support tickets and the company "Authy" is also very sluggish to respond ans bad at doing things, I had to upload my ID 6 times before they changed my Phone Number!! It took over 2 weeks!!!
OVERALL SCORES:
Support: Very Bad (1/10)
Ease of Use: Moderate (4/10)
Fees: Very Bad (1/10)
Overall satisfaction: Bad (2/10
To Improve: Shut Down busniess or change how you are structured, reduce fees, get rid of useless wallets that you don't need and confuse customers when using the GUI, you can loose money in the process of using the GUI which is very bad.

starstarstarstarstar Honest review. They are easy to "repeat purchase" bitcoin through once you jump through the right hoops and get verified. The site is like a bank and they freeze everything like once a week because of gdax issues which i guess is good for security but you cant get your coin. Rates for purchasing coin seem to be the lowest but the limits are terrible.. $50-150 a week, seriously?
Customer Service is non existent and after checking LinkedIn they (cust service) are located in the Phillipines not US. They get all your info and cooperate with IRS and AML laws which doesn't bother me but might others. If you run into any problems expect 72 hours before having your emails responded to, always at 1-6 am EST. It takes about 5-7 days to get simple things resolved.
After using site for a month I have found a way to work to get my coin from them and store offsite. Do not store coin in their wallet, move to mycellium or copay, etc. Use paper wallet or electronic wallet. Sell coins then cash out (they will send funds to Paypal but you cannot use paypal to purchase), or buy coins and move to you personal wallet. Remember, if its not in your personal wallet that you hold the private keys to, you dont have the coin, someone else does.

starstarstarstarstar I used Coinbase for exactly 1 month. 20 of those days was spent trying to reach their $#itty customer service. After google searching for 45 mins I found a San Francisco phone number. It was a recording that had 2 options: Use their online customer service or call back during business hours. It was 235 PM on a Wednesday! I contacted the Better Business Bureau Bay Area office and told them my problem with Coinbase. They directed me to their complaint site and asked me to fill out a complaint. It was posted on the site. 2 days later BBB emails me saying they contacted Coinbase. Beneath my complaint CB had the nerve to say situation resolved. All that just so I could place my payment method on their website! After continued problems with CB I cussed those bastards out and threatened to report them to BBB again. Thankfully CB cancelled my account just before I could close it myself!

starstarstarstarstar Coinbase is a site of Criminal Thieves that will steal your money. STAY AWAY!!!
Coinbase is not to be trusted. As with many other complaints I have seen. They have lost/stolen from me, they have no Phone number posted anywhere to contact them, they will not answer to any complains you have from the website, or if they do eventually answer to a problem from the website after several weeks, they will just tell you there is nothing they can do.
I am contacting any and every review site I can find to warn as many people as I possibly can.
I am opening a case with the Better Business Bureau, and any other authority I can contact.
DO NOT USE COINBASE... STAY AWAY!!!
Anyone who has any way of contacting them directly or found a way of getting results, or anyone from the coinbase corporate office that wants to contact me, write me at [email protected].

starstarstarstarstar Coinbase are pointless if you are in the UK.
I have tried to purchase Bitcoins with numerous cards. This includes a Visa credit card, Mastercard pre-paid debit card, debit cards on on bank accounts from 2 different banks and found all payments were sneakily blocked by the card issuers. The card issuers do a reverse check with the merchant and tell you that they are awaiting a response from the merchant before they proceed but it is ridiculous to think that a merchant will delay a payment to themselves! The request times out and the transaction gets cancelled. I had to escalate this with one of the card issuers to get to the real reason why and they admitted that they didn't do transactions with "certain financial institutions". They block them basically.
Also coinbase support is hopeless. It takes them at least 3 days to respond to any query and then they give you the wrong answer.

starstarstarstarstar Absolutely disappointed!
-Did not support debit cards from Balkan region (3 months I've try to buy bitcoins, and without any success)
-Did not support Bank Transfer from same region ( I've made deposit of 200 euro with bank transfer, and all fees was for me, after 8 business days, they reject the deposit and money did not reach my account in coinbase)
- terrible support - three service request for issues for three months and no one was accurately solved.
I'm done with you!

starstarstarstarstar I wish I could give them a zero,
Validation was a nightmare.
Upgrading was impossible.
I made two purchases and transfers
And now they have blocked my buys, just when I need the bitcoin for my business
You get no response for your support ticket and not info on why the block
Also no information on how to cure the problem.
It is impossible to work with this company.

starstarstarstarstar Coinbase has been an excellent service for me. As a btc novice, they offer the easiest way to set up a wallet and buy bitcoin directly with a credit card. I haven't experienced some of the issues that other reviewers have undergone. Perhaps thats because I'm not purchasing a large amount of BTC. Or maybe Coinbase has improved significantly since then.
They're a mainstream service for good reason. It seems that they have invested a lot into becoming the #1 wallet service.

starstarstarstarstar Ive used coinbase for almost 2 years now. Aside from the high limits and wait time thats a pain. The issues just began recently. My limits increased to $500 instant buy to the next day it going up to $15k. Then receiving an email the following day stating my account was closed. Something about i was violation of "their policy". Confusing to say the least. After sending an email asking what does this even mean? They just sent a typical "we are sorry but there is nothing we can do" statement. Really?

starstarstarstarstar Yes, they track and know who you send/receive bitcoin from. Defeats the purpose of bitcoin.
- January 29, 2017
starstarstarstarstar They are slow as hell and yes they keep records. Not private at all. Tumble all you want but if you buy from them, its on record with them.
- January 28, 2017
starstarstarstarstar Nothing kept with this company/service is private. For an anonymous internet coin, they track everything and gather information. If you are looking for private, safe currency, keep looking.
- January 25, 2017
starstarstarstarstar Their site will NOT accept any of my cards. I am new to this and they have made this process extremely confusing. All I want to do is buy BTC for a small transaction overseas. Why do they need a copy of my license? Why does their system push me to use my checking account info? Why are there seemingly thousands of people who have been scammed by this website?

starstarstarstarstar I'm having a hard time understanding all these bad reviews. Being new to bitcoin I purchased $150 US paid a nominal fee was verified very quickly and 60 days later my $150 was $179 I asked to with draw $175.00 I received the money in three days and the 4.00 bucks I left in is back to 9.00. I experienced no problems whatsoever and after having tried the process I am now ready to make a sizable investment. I am puzzled at the many problems people are reporting and believe me I HATE crappy customer service but I encountered absolutely none of that and completely satisfied.

starstarstarstarstar The credit card verification sucks.

starstarstarstarstar Company is trash. Stay away
