did a large bank wire to bitcoin on 11/2/17. my bank sent the wire w/ " last name first" format. my coinbase account is w/ first name first. coinbase supposedly reversed the wire - its been almost 2 weeks and money is still missing from my bank account. tried several times to contact them - no response ! getting very worried about large amount of money missing. what authority does one report this sort of incident to ?

Hello,Please do not be fooled by all the fake reviews. If you are using Coinbase or planning to in the future, then I am here to tell you it is the SAFEST exchange on the market! Coinbase is backed by a number of federal banking institutes. The security is second to none. If you keep your bitcoins in the Coinbase vault they guarantee your investment. I have over 100k invested in bitcoin through Coinbase. I started really small at first and as time went one... I started making larger deposits. I have bought and sold thousands of dollars in bitcoins with Coinbase and have never had a problem that had not gotten fixed in a timely manner. Coinbase is by no means perfect. They are the best and most honest exchange in my opinion. Do not take a chance with the scammers on this review site! Use Coinbase and nothing else anyone from this site tells you or you will have lost valuable time, money, and courage.

Having transferred over £1,000 into my account, I was asked to reverify my ID. Having tried over 50 times, it doesn't work for an unknown reason. MY money is now stuck in a anverified account and there is no way of getting the money back. Coinbase stopped replying to my emails months ago.

coinbase is for high school or elementry kids to use, no one that is experience trader with half a brain deals with this company,when u have big market swings happen and you want to do something with your bitcoin like send it over to another account to buy other coins, coinbase will not do it, they will have techical dificulties and weird issues, your transactions will be pending for couple days, stay away, on a positive not if your around age 13 with your moms credit card coinbase is the place for you to buy bitcoin!

Horrible customer service and very questionable business practice. After verifying my bank account and submitting my order which was accepted and confirmed, I was told that I have to wait 9 days for the Bitcoins to be delivered and to have access to my funds and purchases. From a business and investing standing point, this makes no sense.

I used coinbase for 2 years And have issues with security validation process that can be long and frustrated
There customer service is not good and take forever to get someone on the phone
I have issue with iPhone update that created a situation that I have to go go thru validation again and waited two weeks for them to deposit funds in my bank that never happened
Luckily I was able to get answers from them by email that solved the problem

the absolute worst customer support ever!! took 3 months to reply and they basically stole 700.00 in digital funds transfer from me. someone should sue their ass. here is there response to me after 3 freakin months of emails to them: After looking into your email history I see you are emailing in regard to you having transferred some Golem from Exodus to your ETH Wallet here on Coinbase.
I’m very sorry for the trouble. Unfortunately, our key-signing mechanism is not equipped to handle alt-coins that run on top of digital currencies such as bitcoin or ethereum. The security and integrity of our private keys is of the utmost importance to us. As a result, the specific private keys associated with an address are not physically available to any single person. It would take a massive effort and some very large engineering resources just to access a specific key, not to mention the inherent security risks involved.
I understand that this is extremely frustrating, but the unfortunate reality is that maintaining and prioritizing the security of our private keys is our top priority, which means we will not be able to return any alt-coin funds accidentally sent to Coinbase-controlled addresses. I was almost an "early adopter" of Bitcoin, a few years ago when it was trading in the $55.00 range. After watching Bitcoin move over 1000x my initial temptation to enter, I thought I would look for a safe place to buy a meager $5000 investment. Several internet sources suggested Coinbase as a reliable and safe alternative. So, I opened a Coinbase account, and was initially impressed with their "security" system. With all of the question and answer stuff they asked, and with their demand for pictures of drivers licenses, etc. as part of their security, I gave them one of my credit cards, and, after about an hour, was able to purchase $150 in Bitcoin. That was it. Well, a week later, I still have no ability to buy or sell to/from my account. Given that I am still well within my option period to negate the charge with my credit card company, I will do this tomorrow. It seems obvious to me that Coinbase.com is a fraud. Even if my credit card company denies my refund, I'm happy that I will loose only $150 instead of the $5000 I was intent on purchasing. People's mileage may vary, but I have received no indication that Coinbase.com is a legitimate company. Stay safe and avoid them at all costs!

Unfortunately I called HP for tech support coinbase ran a few small transactions through my debit card, I am trying to retrieve my funds as the card number worked but the bank was not my bank. Strange. I'm hoping my bank can help out with this. I should of never gave them my card number before getting information on the problem I was having.
