starstarstarstarstar I sent verification documents over 2 months ago and they have not been processed yet. I email them and never get a reply. I wonder if they are a real company or a scam?

starstarstarstarstar They have stolen my 90.000 USD.
Did not credited after SWIFT.

starstarstarstarstar They blocked trading and withdrawals with no explanation.
I was stupid to make a (fortunately) small deposit before realizing that cryptos are hostage now.
Yeah, deposits are not blocked!
Very smart trap.

starstarstarstarstar I've used both bitstamp and kraken as fiat exchanges.
Bitstamp EUR withdrawls process in a day or less.
from kraken it usually takes two days.

starstarstarstarstar Just as a counterweight to all the panicking here: Yes, Bitstamp is very slow in processing fiat deposits/withdrawals, and they often ask for extra verification at precisely the wrong moment and then take a long time to verify it before releasing your funds, but one thing they don't do is steal your money.
I was getting quite worried when I had initiated a large withdrawal and it was still "processing" after almost two weeks, with no answer to my support request asking for an ETA, and then reading all these "they took my money" messages here, but after just under two weeks it finally did arrive on my bank account just fine.
It would be nice if all the people complaining "they took my money" would come back afterwards to confirm that they did, in fact, end up receiving it but it just took some time. Yes, it's annoying. Yes, they are overly zealous in making all the legally required anti-money-laundering verifications. Yes, they are slow. Yes, you may lose a perfect buying opportunity while they are processing your money. But no, your money is not lost.
By the way, crypto withdrawals and deposits are much, much faster. Ripple took mere minutes to transfer to Kraken, for example. So if you really want your money out quickly and you have a different provider that offers faster withdrawals, just buy some crypto in Bitstamp, send the crypto over, sell it for fiat again and withdraw.

starstarstarstarstar Absolutely do not use this service. They will take your funds and then completely ignore you. HOW DO I GET MY MONEY BACK?!!?!?!?!

starstarstarstarstar Asked for a wire to be processed on Dec 27.
Haven't received my money and the balance already went down to ZERO at Bitstamp.
Be very careful. It is a scam!

starstarstarstarstar You cannot cash out or withdraw on bitstamp anything more than $10K. When you try to withdraw the USD or EUR a person from customer support will contact you saying "PLEASE PROVIDE THE DOCUEMTNS FOR SOURCE OF YOUR BITCOINS", this is a regular KYC procedure done to all customers. The list of documents to provide is huge. Despite that I put all documents together (remember this is just for $20K withdrawal) they are still asking me for some sort of digital signing technique that nobody supports anymore. They say the account cannot move any funds without full and complete "KYC" which is impossible to complete. THE BIGGEST PROBLEM is they never mention this BEFORE you deposit!!! It's crazy!! Now that the money is IN THEIR HANDS they will ask for KYC that is pretty much impossible to complete. Seriously, they are asking for the source of my bitcoins? Why don't you fcking look on the blockchain?
Basically impossible to withdraw any significant amount of fiat. Stay away.

starstarstarstarstar if any one else is having the problem of not being able to "sell" the shares off in their account for any of the Bitstamp currency please let me know. I can see there are about a thousand people on here asking where their money is at cause their withdrawal hasn't been completed but just wondering if anyone is having the same problem of not being able to "sell" any shares

starstarstarstarstar I am reading a lot of negative press on BItstamp. I have never cashed out but I signed up when xrp was around .20 cents before all the chaos and frustrated new users that can't get verified.
ONE PROBLEM: I have taken most of my xrp off the Bitstamp website BUT I have left 2200 shares on there. When I go to try and "sell" them right now it will NOT allow me to. My cash balance is reflective and moving up and down with the price off xrp it fluctuates BUT again when I go to sell it says "0 shares available" it never did this to me before. I am wondering if they will not allow a sell due to the recent crash. Crazy though.
