Put through some large orders, never any problems. They do deals for larger amounts and spoke on the phone to a couple of their people all based in Australia. Only issue is that you have to fully verify who you are which sucks but thats pretty normal now.

The reviews here seem a bit ridiculous. Have used Bit Trade for purchases a number of times, with no problems whatsoever.The verification process was simple. The customer service was responsive when I had a question. I definitely don't agree with the 1 star reviews here.

Bitcoin as of June-July 2017 claims poli-payments are between 30minutes-4 hours (after your first account payment), until funds become cleared and 'processed', yet 40-60% of the transactions I make with this company fall short of that policy/promise. Rather, using my same CBA account, they take up to 6-8 hours, during business hours 50% of the time, or at worst, hours longer.I've been a long-time fully verified account holder with them; buying in excess of $12,000 since early 2013. They are not a scam organisation in my experience, but competition via other trade sites are far superior, faster and seem to have a greater team behind them with competence.
Their tax for your purchases and their selling price are not especially competitive, unlike the now popular decentralised market place Local Bitcoins or other bitcoin companies I have slowly switched to.
Multiple times I have had to take the time to email help desk, expressing my waiting times stated above and to the teams credit they do respond within 1-2hours, sometimes faster. So I commend them in that aspect.
Likewise, never have they failed to provide my bought or sold bitcoins, despite at times causing me to pull my hair out on such long, stressful waiting times.
Overall, no, Bit Trade Australia is not a scam, but they need to improve their business and efficiency model. I have already gone elsewhere in the last 6-8 months, no doubt causing them to lose considerable money via their taxes. I would be surprised if others don't, or haven't already done the same. The 95% issues they have wiht payment types (particularly MasterCard) will do just that to any business.
I sincerely hope the BT AUS team rises to their shortcomings and become competitive and competent in in the world of online bitcoin purchase, for the reason I've listen.
Agin my criticism isn't out of malicious, but optimism of improvement.
2.5/5 given I in all my dealing have never lost through Bit T Aus Scam and they shown good business at times.

A big disappointment - April 18, 2017
Very disappointing service. To setup initially took way longer than they said and they never responded to any emails or Facebook messages. Eventually after at least a week my identity was verified. Everything has worked ever since then until now when their site says that "Buy orders are temporarily unavailable". It's been that way for more than 24 hours and again they won't reply to any messages. I understand that sometimes there can be IT glitches but their lack of openness and zero response to any requests for support mean I'm done with them. I'm in the middle of setting up with Cointree so here's hoping they're better to deal with.

Terrible costumer service! I was teying to buy bitcoins with them for the firat time. but it's just impossible becase their system is been upgrading. Frustating experience with them. I've got an email from them asking me to find another seller because they don't know how long their system will take to be upgraded...

3rd transaction with this company waited for coins nothing,was told everything was being manually processed so asked to get it cancelled.It was cancelled then was told money would be back in my account overnight.didnt happen,Contacted again and was told they had problems with there bank and would take a couple of days
Been 3 weeks and now no response at all
nothing short of a scam as everyone else has said i suggest staying away from this joke of a company
Have reported this company and will be pursuing this till i get my money back.

I lost my phone and now have 4G stuck because I can't Sms verify. Months have passed now. I can't believe they get away with this!
